Our History

It was 1912 when, in Milan, the Sozzi brothers began producing silk and Filo di Scozia cotton socks. With careful and passionate manual craftsmanship, they satisfied the desires of discerning gentlemen and ladies, associating their signature with a guarantee of quality and refined elegance.

After the dark years of the two world wars, the company chose to specialize in the production of men's socks. To create them, the best natural materials are selected and carefully processed to give life to excellent accessories that soon become the pride of the brand.

The Hosiery goes through the following decades, reaching an extraordinary maturity that allows the company to prosper through an immediately recognizable and appreciated quality by increasingly loyal customers. Sozzi Milano's mission is as simple as it is ambitious: to transform an apparently mundane accessory like men's socks into an authentic statement of style, an element capable of reflecting the character of the refined man who wears it. The Hosiery experiences the transition to the new millennium with the company's helm in the hands of Franco Sozzi, son, and grandson of the founders, determined to preserve and enhance the excellence that embodies the philosophy and identity of a now-historical brand.

In 2018, the Hosiery was acquired by the Ciocca group, which understood the invaluable value of a century-old experience and inherited the commitment to the search for fine yarns and increasingly refined processes. More than a century after the creation of the first pair of Sozzi-branded socks, the company's products continue to demonstrate small masterpieces of skill and artisanal talent: the quality of the materials meets meticulous management of all production phases, and traditional processes are combined with the most innovative machinery for absolutely extraordinary results.

Since 1912

Over a century after the creation of the first pair of Sozzi-branded socks, the company's products continue to demonstrate small masterpieces of skill and artisanal talent: the quality of materials meets meticulous management of all production phases, and traditional processes combine with the most innovative machinery for absolutely extraordinary results.

From the weaving of fibers to the packaging of socks, all production steps are strictly and authentically Made in Italy.

The Hosiery creates precious four-thread silk organzine, designed to avoid elegant transparencies; it brings to life refined inlay patterns, embroidered baguette or spearhead, applies special edges, and enriches its creations with embroidery and monograms made entirely by hand in tribute to the unforgettable craftsmanship of the past.

All materials used in the packaging of socks are selected with the utmost care: soft cashmere, impalpable silk, pure wool, authentic Irish linen, and varieties of fine cottons such as Filo di Scozia and “Sea Island”.

Thanks to the outstanding quality of the raw materials, passionate and constant stylistic research, and a deeply customer-oriented service, today Sozzi Milano has the pleasure of sharing its work with some of the world's most renowned fashion brands through licensed productions or under a private label regime.

The company boasts collaborations with renowned businesses such as Valentino, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Gucci, Paul Smith, Sunspel, Julipet, and Conbipel.

Every day, the diligent industriousness of a machine room operating 24 hours a day allows the Hosiery to produce the most varied types of socks: from the most classic, made of wool, Filo di Scozia or combed cotton, to the "fashion" ones, which intertwine different qualities of yarn in gauges 240, 200, 168, 156, and 144 needles.

From the company's doors, diverse socks are ready to enter the daily lives of the most refined men and accompany them in their most special days.

Elegant, inlaid, or sporty socks surprise the market with timeless quality and a special focus on contemporary taste, satisfied with the coexistence of classic and trendy colours, traditional patterns and modern fantasies.
